2021 Mazda CX-5 standard technology and safety features

The Mazda CX-5 is one of the most popular crossover SUVs on the market today. It’s a driver’s choice for many reasons, including its majestic design, dynamic drivetrain, and premium features that elevate it to a near-luxury level. This stellar compact crossover SUV will continue to impress as it enters the 2021 model year. What’s new for 2021? Let’s go over what we know so far about the 2021 Mazda CX-5 standard technology and safety features.

Take a look at the updates for the 2021 Mazda CX-9

New infotainment upgrades

While the Mazda CX-5 is getting mostly a refresh for the 2021 model year, that refresh includes some solid technology and infotainment upgrades, most notably to the actual touchscreen. The new standard touchscreen on the 2021 Mazda CX-5 is 10.25 inches large and will host the latest MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment system. This will include standard Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ functionality, so you can sync up your compatible phone and listen to your favorite curated playlists and take advantage of select applications on a familiar interface. You’ll also receive a standard three-year trial of Mazda Connected Services, which will allow you to access and control certain aspects of the vehicle while you’re away from it when you use the MyMazda app on your phone. Speaking of connectivity, the 2021 Mazda CX-5 will also offer an in-car Wi-Fi hotspot with a three-month or 2GB trial. Wi-Fi inside a vehicle will come in handy on long road trips or if you need to quickly access the internet on your device while out and about.

Smart safety technology

The 2021 Mazda CX-5 comes standard with i-Activesense® safety features that include Mazda Radar Cruise Control with stop and go, Advanced Smart City Brake Support with Pedestrian Detection, Smart Brake Support, Lane Departure Warning with Lane-Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. While these safety features are not a replacement for your safe and alert driving, they are a way to give you added assistance out there on the road.

The 2021 Mazda CX-5 and other models will offer a new Carbon Edition package

The 2021 Mazda CX-5 is equipped with a standard 187-horsepower engine that is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift and sport modes.
